Network Install Tips
| The Network Install is a 2-Step
Process |
- Install VitalSigns to your server
- You must do workstation
installs to any PC accessing VitalSigns on the server. (VitalSigns
licensing allows 10 users)
| VitalSigns Workstation Install |
- Open the VitalSigns folder using Windows Explorer. You
cannot do this from one central location; it must be done
from each workstation. (The default location of this folder
is F:\VitalSigns)
- Inside the VitalSigns folder is a Setup folder. Inside
the Setup folder is a file called SETUP.EXE
- Double-click on SETUP.EXE to run the workstation setup.
- If the User Information and Serial Number are correct,
proceed. If they are incorrect, change them.
- Choose a destination for the user's folder on their PC.
It will contain just a few files. (The default location
is C:\Program Files\LifeLink Corporation\VitalSigns)
- The workstation install creates a program group in the start menu that
will open the copy of VitalSigns on the server by way of the
workstation.
- You can also choose to create a desktop icon during the install.
- If
you create a shortcut by hand, the target path should look
something like this, with the install location on the server
followed by a space and then the location of the workstation:
F:\VitalSigns\VSNet.exe
C:\Program Files\LifeLink Corporation\VitalSigns.
- You can update VitalSigns semimonthly using the workstation
of your choice (You do not need to run the update from every
workstation).
- When you access VitalSigns from any of the workstations after
an Internet update, a Net Update will run, updating local files
on that workstation.
