Frequently Asked Questions
VitalSigns is a web program.
How do I get the CD? |
VitalSigns is a web application, which means the program
is not on your computer but is on our servers. We house an
always-current version on a site called LifeLink
Pro, which offers several insurance sales tools. You simply
access it using your Internet browser. This means no waiting
for CD's and no installing or updating. Also users can
use VitalSigns on any computer with Internet access rather
than just the PC where the program is installed. New developments
will be added to the web version only. If you are often out
in the field without an Internet connection, you can order
an accompanying CD for only $25 for use when
you're not connected to the Internet.
How do I update the ratings in my VitalSigns?
The web version of VitalSigns never needs to be updated -
you always has the latest ata, because we update it for you.
If you have the desktop CD - a ratings update and any changes
to the program are posted twice monthly on the Internet, usually
by the close of the 1st and 15th of the month. We have 2
types of updates to accommodate the variety of Internet
service providers. Simply connect to the World Wide Web. Minimize
the Internet screen but keep the connection running.
Open VitalSigns. Click on the Tools menu. Choose Update VitalSigns.
Sit back and watch. If a firewall prevents you from using
this feature, you can go to the VitalSigns
update page and follow instructions for the VitalSigns
update.
How do I un-install VitalSigns?
From the Start button, choose Settings and then Control Panel. Use the Add/Remove
program feature.
Why does my current version of VitalSigns contain financials from the previous year?
Insurance companies have a quarter to report their financial data, similar
to a tax return. In May 2000, the most current financials
are from December 1999.
Is my old copy of VitalSigns automatically deleted when I install my new copy?
Yes, they install to the same default directory.
One of the companies is stuck in the Companies to Compare list and I can't remove it.
f you cannot remove a company from the Companies to Compare list,
you have a version with a company purposely locked into the
compare position. For instance, if you have a USLIFE version,
United States Life, All American Life, or Old Line Life will
be automatically selected for the Profile, Analysis, and Multiple
Company Graphs reports.
